The Opportunity:
We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our expansion, identifying and nurturing opportunities with businesses that can benefit from our specialized web performance consultancy. You'll handle a mix of inbound inquiries stemming from our marketing efforts and targeted outbound prospecting, engaging with leads that have shown some initial interest or fit a strong ideal customer profile. Your primary goal will be to understand their challenges related to web performance, articulate how improvements can directly impact their revenue and business objectives, and schedule qualified consultations for our senior performance consultants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Qualification & Nurturing:
- Promptly follow up on and qualify inbound leads generated from marketing campaigns, website inquiries, webinars, and content downloads.
- Engage in targeted outbound prospecting to identify and connect with key decision-makers (e.g., in Product, Engineering, Marketing, E-commerce, or IT departments) within organizations that fit our ideal client profile.
- Understand and assess prospect needs and pain points related to website speed, Core Web Vitals, user experience, bounce rates, conversion funnels, and overall web performance, always linking these to potential business revenue impacts.
- Value Articulation & Relationship Building:
- Clearly and concisely articulate the direct business impact of web performance (e.g., on sales, lead generation, customer retention, SEO rankings, and operational efficiency), illustrating how performance improvements translate into revenue growth.
- Educate prospects on how our consultancy services can diagnose performance bottlenecks across their entire digital infrastructure (including server response times, content delivery networks, front-end code efficiency, third-party integrations, and asset optimization) and deliver a clear, prioritized roadmap for improvement that focuses on ROI.
- Build rapport and establish initial relationships with potential clients, acting as their first point of contact with [Your Company Name] and a trusted advisor on performance matters.
- Meeting Generation & Sales Support:
- Secure qualified discovery calls and consultations for our Senior Web Performance Consultants, ensuring leads understand the potential business value.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all lead interactions, activities, and progress in our CRM system.
- Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to refine targeting strategies, messaging (emphasizing business and revenue impacts), and lead generation efforts.
- Achieve and exceed monthly/quarterly targets for qualified leads and meetings booked.
- Market Awareness:
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging best practices in web performance optimization and its effect on business metrics.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience (1-2+ years) in a BDR, SDR, or similar sales role, preferably within a B2B technology or consultancy environment focused on solutions that drive business value.
- Demonstrable ability to handle both inbound and outbound sales motions effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey how technical performance improvements lead to tangible business benefits for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong listening and questioning skills to effectively uncover prospect challenges and connect them to business objectives.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience using CRM software and sales engagement tools.
- Resilient, coachable, and eager to learn and grow, with a focus on value-based selling.
Desirable / Bonus Points:
- Experience in a role related to SaaS, digital marketing, e-commerce solutions, or web development.
- Familiarity with web performance metrics (e.g., Core Web Vitals, Time to First Byte, Largest Contentful Paint) and their correlation with business KPIs.
- Understanding of how different parts of a web stack (e.g., CDNs, databases, APIs, third-party scripts, client-side rendering) can impact overall site speed and business outcomes.
- A genuine interest in helping businesses improve their online revenue and customer experience through enhanced performance.
